When it comes to Ninja Gaiden, you’ll be hard pressed to find someone more interested than me. Hayashi has been talking a lot about the game recently and now this is his chance to showcase what his team have been working on. They have been talking about how they want it to play completely different from previous games in the series and these videos seem to show that.
The game is being developed by Zombie studios who also made the FPS game Blacklight Tango Down, and claims to reinvent the combat shooter genre by allowing players to control it completely by Kinect. Now I must admit, that statement doesn’t really make much sense by itself and I don’t have Kinect nor have I used one. Blackwater will be shown off sometime this E3 and it’s a very interesting concept, just seeing a shooter working properly on Kinect would be quite a sight to behold. This also marks an important step that Microsoft is taking with the hardware and trying to get more people interested in it.
Microsoft’s Press Conference starts at 10am. Will we see Halo?. Will we see kinect integration with hardcore games? New IP’s? Your guess is as good as mine. Stay tuned right here on Player Affinity. Thefirst trailer that was shown was Modern Warfare 3. You first start off scuba diving, similar to Modern Warfare 2, slowly making your way into a submarine.
Well Sony has their new killer app coming out in a few days. Infamous 2 will give Playstation 3 owners a dose of super-powered sandbox action that will only be available on their console. Which is a shame, because the game and its hero would have worked so much better on the Xbox 360.
I’m just going to cut right to it here, if what you’ve already seen from Ninja Theory’s reboot of the long running Devil May Cry series has shaken your confidence; this isn’t going to change anything. I must emphasise here and now that this is not confirmed, so take the following with a huge pinch of salt.
Be glad this games exists. A few years ago the Dungeon Siege franchise was going strong, then “filmmaker” Uwe Boll adapted it into a horrendous movie that nearly killed the franchise. It took a new publisher and a new developer to salvage it, so we should all be grateful anything Dungeon Siege at all.
