No Mo’ Commando!

Great news for all of us legit Modern Warfare
gamers, but bad news for all of you cheesy players. Robert Bowling, the
creative strategist for Infinity Ward, has confirmed that the commando
perk previously in Modern Warfare 2 will not be in the next installment.

For those of you that are new to the Call of Duty
series, commando was a perk that allowed you to melee another player
from a substantial distance away from them. Basically you could stab
from like ten feet away, amazing huh? Not! Having that perk made the
gameplay feel so unrealistic especially when you have those players who
never used guns and abused the perk. Commando took away from the
otherwise great gameplay.

Gears of War on the Board

Fantasy Fight Games has unveiled the trailer for the Gears
of War 3 Board Game. How can you turn one the most dynamic Xbox-only,
first-person shooter games into a board game? Well, they did it and time
will tell if the board game will sell as much as this extremely
successful series.

Gears of War 3
has over one million pre-orders and has taken the cake as most
pre-orders for exclusive Xbox titles. Just because you have one of the
most successful games does not mean you can possibly bring rebirth of
the old school board game back. This board is said to have been designed
by the same individual who made the Battlestar Galatica Board Game (not
that anyone really knew of this). The game will be a four player game
with each player being assigned one character in an attempt to secure
territory from the Hoard of Locust.

Kinect Star Wars Screenshots

Microsoft has done little to justify buying a Kinect if you’re a hardcore gamer.  With games likeDisneyland Adventures, Zumba, and Pinkie Pie’s Pony Party, the target audience seems to be children and casual gamers (Okay I made that last one up, but don’t be surprised if My Little Pony Kinect shows up by Christmas). Kinect Star Wars seems like a legitimate attempt to appeal to the traditional gamer geek crowd, but screenshots released today conjure mixed feelings.
