Homefront Trailer “Occupation” Released

The year is 2027. The world has suffered a decade-long energy crisis, and economies have crumbled. Reduced to a mere shadow of the super power it once was, the United States became the target of a North Korean takeover. American malls, suburbs and city streets are now battlegrounds as the civilian resistance fights for freedom. Featuring a compelling single player story crafted by John Milius (Apocalypse Now, Red Dawn), Homefront immerses gamers in an interactive and cinematic FPS experience where they will assume an infantry role or take command of a wide variety of aerial and ground vehicles. In addition to the single-player experience, Homefront will deliver a robust multiplayer experience. In a land stripped of freedom, the brave will fight for their home.”

Deus Ex Prequel Delayed

As if waiting for 8 years for a proper prequel to the revolutionary Deus Ex franchise is not enough, Square Enix will insist that you wait a little bit longer. The highly anticipated prequel Deus Ex Human Revolution was originally scheduled to release on March 8, 2011 but has been delayed for Square Enix to give it an extra coat of polish. As of now Square Enix has not announced a release date. We could possibly see this game creep into the 2011 holiday season to possibly help Square Enix increase their ever shrinking profit margin.

Section 8: Prejudice, announced a few months back, has now received a “ludicrously low” price.

“There may be something strange in the water down here in Texas, or perhaps TimeGate Studios’ CEO, Adel Chaveleh, has gone completely mad, but the award-winning independent developer and publisher has revealed that Section 8: Prejudice,a sequel to the full-priced Section 8, will be available exclusively as a digital download on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Windows PC for just $14.99 / 1200 Microsoft Points. Dead Space 2 “Sprawl” Trailer

EA has dropped a new trailer for Dead Space 2. This is the kind of trailer that sells games, providing hype and excitement but not really too much of an insight. The trailer is disjointed and makes no connections. There’s alot of necromorphs, some death, guts and blood. So, pretty much standard fare for the series. The free fall section totally reminds me of the free fall sections in Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions.

Bioware Reveals Mass Effect 3 at VGAs

The trailer depicts the unnamed soldier from the teaser image attacking unseen foes from a clock tower. As the camera pans out it’s revealed that the soldier is inside London’s Big Ben while the city is under siege by massive Reapers. The soldier gives this ominous narration as the trailer closes: “Only one thing is certain – if Shepard doesn’t bring help soon, there won’t be an Earth left to save.”

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Premiers at VGAs

Bethesda showed the world premier trailer for their next Elder Scrolls game at Spike TV’s Video Game Awards on Saturday, Dec. 11. A release date of Nov. 11, 2011, was also announced.

The trailer, introduced by Bethesda Softworks’ Todd Howard, revealed very few details on characters, plot and gameplay. It looks as if dragons will play a big part in the game as the trailer was mostly comprised of an unseen character providing narration while a camera panned around a series of stone carvings of the winged serpents, one of whi

Red Dead Redemption Nabs Game of the Year at VGAs

Rockstar San Diego’s open-world western, Red Dead Redemption, won top honors at Saturday night’s Video Game Awards, which aired on Spike TV.

It was far from a clean sweep for the game, though, as the only other awards it won that night were for music, one for “Best Original Score” and another for “Best Song,” which was given in recognition of the track “Far Away” by Jose Gonzalez. Red Dead Redemption was also nominated for Studio of the Year (Rockstar San Diego), Character of the Year (John Marston), Best PS3 Game, Best Action/Adventure Game, Best Graphics and Best Performance by a Human Male (Rob Weithoff as John Marston).
