Rumour Alert: Timesplitters 4 in development for next Xbox and Playstation

Here is something that will certainly get people talking. Now I must stress that none of the following is confirmed, niether Crytek or Microsoft has commented on this rumour, the information has supposedly come from Crytek themselves. There are no specifications for the system as of now but Crytek are using Microsoft’s DirectX 11 as the standard for their next console. The console is said to be announced at next year’s E3, while this is believed to be earlier than when Sony will announce theirs, the game is still intended for Sony’s next system too.

It just gets better from here too; following Skarlet will be Rain and Kenshi

Jean Luc Picard To Voice War Of The Worlds on XBLA

This Fall XBLA is getting a game based on War Of The Worlds, today when the developers announced that Sir Patrick Stewart will provide voicework for the narration.  The War of the Worlds will be a 2D single player action game, that uses rotoscope-inspired animation. It will deal with original characters during the Martian invasion, using elements from H.G. Wells’ book, but also some from the 1953 movie too (And surely a nod to Orson Welles radio broadcast will pop in as well).

Bloodrayne Rises From The Grave

Bloodrayne is among the video games that have been granted the honor of a film adaptation by Uwe Boll.  But don’t hold that against poor little vampiress Rayne, because her games are actually pretty good, unlike the movie adaptations.  While the film series has hopefully been put to its final rest, the game franchise will return this summer in a new format.

With the Electronic Entertainment Expo behind us, we can now all look forward to the actual release dates of the most anticipated games. Announced a couple of months ago, Dead Rising 2: Off the Record is essentially the director’s cut of the originalDead Rising 2. There’s  a new theme park area included as well as new combo weapons and the photography mechanic will make a return.

Hands on with El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron

This game claims to be based on ancient religious texts, but it really doesn’t matter, because the story is pretty much incomprehensible, and divine intervention won’t help make it make any more sense, if the demo released on Xbox live today is any indication.  While it has gotten a lot of buzz for having an unusual design scheme, the gameplay present in the demo makes it seem like style over substance.  Despite its allegedly holy inspirations, my hour with it felt like an eternity in hell.
