Halo’s Warthog Will Be Featured in Forza 4

At an event hosted by
343 Industries, developer Turn 10 announced that the Warthog from Halo 4 will be featured in Forza Motorsport 4. Before anyone starts
dreaming of racing a Warthog against Ferrari, Turn 10’s Dan Greenawalt
confirmed that the Warthog will not be drivable. Instead, it will be available
as an unlockable in Forza 4’s
Autovista mode, which lets players admire their vehicles using the Kinect for a
virtual walk-around.

Gears of War 3 Season Pass Announced

The Gears of War franchise is coming to an end this September 20th, Microsoft and Epic Games have anounced DLC plans for the game. Similar to Rockstar’s L.A Noire Pass and Mortal Kombat Pass,Gears of War 3 will have a Season Pass for all Gears 3 DLC that will cost you 2,400 Microsoft or 30 dollars.

Gears of War 3 Goes Gold

The wait to return to the war-ravaged world of Sera and rev up those chainsaws is nearly over. Cliff Bleszinski, Epic Games’ Design Director, announced via his Twitter account that Gears of War 3 has gone gold.  Accompanying the post is a picture of a cake that states, “Gone gold!  Congratulations from Xbox!”  He noted that “At Epic, the cake is not a lie,” a reference from Valve’s Portal, assuring readers that Gears of War 3 is indeed finished.

Take Arms Begins Second Week of Xbox Live Indie Games Summer Uprising

The Xbox Live Indie Games Summer Uprising begins its second week with today’s game, Take Arms, a 2D side-scrolling shooting title labeled as the “multiplayer evolution of the classic console platformer.” It features three different classes to choose from: the sniper rifle-wielding Striker, the minigun-equipped Destroyer, or the common Grunt with an assault rifle. Players can battle it out over three maps, and three game modes: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Capture the Flag. Take Arms supports 1-8 player online matches, and system link.

Kinect Star Wars Pushed Back to 2012

Microsoft has confirmed that Kinect
Star Wars
, along with the Star Wars-themed Xbox 360 console, will not meet its
previously announced launch date of holiday 2011.

A Microsoft spokesperson told OXM (Official Xbox Magazine) that “Microsoft
and LucasArts have elected to move the launch of Kinect Star Wars beyond
holiday 2011 to ensure the full potential of this title is realized…This move
applies to both the Kinect Star Wars stand-alone game and the Kinect Star Wars
Limited Edition Console. We will communicate additional timing information at a
later
date.”
