be the latest trend for publishers, as Gears of War 3’s Season Pass and Call of Duty Elite suggest. Now,
Microsoft is offering a Season Pass for Forza
Motorsport 4. For $30, Forza fans
will have access to six add-on packs, planned for release in installments from
November 2011 to April 2012. Purchasing the Season Pass will cost 30 percent
less than buying each add-on separately. In total, the add-ons will add at
least 60 new vehicles to the game.
If you’ve been banned from Xbox Live
recently for seemingly no reason, you are not alone. Stephen Toulouse, head of
Xbox Live’s Policy and Enforcement team, announced via Major Nelson’s blog that a “handful” of
Live users were banned inaccurately for modded consoles. “After an initial investigation we have confirmed that a handful of
banned consoles did in-fact appear to not have been modified or tampered with,”
Toulouse wrote, noting that the bans occurred between August 29 and
September 9.

Late last night, on Netflix.com, Reed Hastings, co-founder and CEO of Netflix, apologized for the outrage caused when Netflix increased prices by 66 percent. I personally didn’t have a problem with Netflix increasing their prices. As someone who has enjoyed watching Movies and TV shows from my Xbox 360 and PS3 console, I knew a price-hike was expected and thought it was reasonable.

Well, that’s a little obsessive, but I suppose you’ll be glad to hear that the new Deus Ex: Human Revolution DLC will provide five hours of gameplay devoted to explaining this loose end.
In principle, the X-Men comic series has all the necessary ingredients for a fun successful game. The movie franchise, while not always spectacular, opened it up to a large audience; it’s full of diverse characters with wild and wonderful powers and has the cross-media power of Marvel Comics behind it. However, for one reason or another, the X-Men have never had their Arkham Asylum. The closest they got was 2004’s X-Men Legends.
THQ announced yesterday
that the developers taking up the Homefront reins for the sequel would
be none other than CryTek, developers of the highly-acclaimed Crysis
series. Considering how strong the
premise of Homefront was and the technological wizardry and experience that
CryTek boasts, it looks as though Homefront 2 could tick all the boxes
that made the first game a success while answering any criticisms that were
levelled at its graphical accomplishments and the length of its single player
campaign.
Robert Bowling, Infinity Ward’s Director of Communications and Community Manager for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, was recently asked how much he and his team concern themselves with competitive corporate bickering. Surprisingly, Bowling says, “Not at all, there’s no buy in on that sort of stuff. We don’t care about sales numbers, we don’t care about competition, we don’t care about beating anyone. Our 100 percent focus is making a game that we’re going to love to play, that we’re going to be proud of, and that we know that our fans are going to play. To us, we don’t care if there are three people playing it or 30 million people playing it. If there are three people having a great time then we’ve done our job correctly and we will be happy.”
