Game of Thrones MMORPG Coming Up!

 “When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die. There is no middle ground.” One of the most highly critically acclaimed book series, turned TV series, turned board-game, turned RTS will now be taking a dip in the online massive multiplayer player pool. George R.R. Martin’s, A Song of Ice and Fire series will be transformed into a browser-based, free to play MMO designed by Bigpoint and called (aptly) Game of Thrones.

HBO Go App to Hit Xbox Live

HBO Go, the popular streaming application from Home Box Office, will soon be making an appearance over Xbox Live.  At an HBO event last night, company co-president Eric Kessler made the announcement that the app would be available come April 1st.  This could be an elaborate April Fools prank, but I think not.

Halo 4 Release Date Trailer is a Fake

Despite a trailer seemingly identifying the release date of Halo 4 that released this morning, Microsoft is still urging fans to “sit tight.”  The trailer, as seen here, is apparently a fake, according to Microsoft.  However, for those of you willing to believe that this could possibly be Microsoft plugging a leak, then expect Halo 4 to release on November 21st, 2012.

NBA Live Returning in 2012

The NBA lockout is long over, and now the NBA Live lockout will follow suit. EA Sports confirmed that the game is in production, and posted a picture on Twitter showing Cleveland Cavaliers’ Kyrie Irving playing the game. Further details, and a release date, have not yet been mentioned.

One Small Step for Man, One Giant Leap for Bioware

EA surprisingly revealed last week that copies of Mass Effect 3 will be launched into space. Yesterday, details about the promotion were announced.

 

We heard shocking news in a press release: “EA and BioWare will be making history by launching the first copies of Mass Effect 3 into outer space! Copies are scheduled to land in San Francisco, Las Vegas, New York and cities in Europe, giving gamers the opportunity to track and collect these limited early copies as they touch back down on Earth.”

Rumor: Mass Effect 3 Costumes for Final Fantasy XIII-2?

After an announcement late last year that Assassin’s Creed clothing would be coming to Final Fantasy XIII-2’s Noel as DLC, this latest rumor isn’t as much surprising as it is perplexing.  Apparently Square Enix isn’t planning on stopping the cross-franchise costuming anytime soon, as there is a new rumor floating around that Mass Effect gear is on the horizon for Final Fantasy XIII-2.

SSX Demo Releases Today on Xbox Live

EA Canada’s return to the world of extreme sports and to a series that has never graced the Xbox 360 or Playstation 3, SSX, releases its demo today on Xbox Live, and tomorrow for PSN.  It’s been over four years since the series last appeared on the Nintendo Wii.  In an attempt to differentiate itself from other titles in the genre, EA Canada is doing something that seems pretty groundbreaking.
