THQ and Yuke's did something unique in terms of how to handle a limited edition for a video game. They released a poll on which fans could vote to decide which WWE superstar would get the collector's edition cover for WWE '12—John Cena or The Rock. As it turned out, The Rock unamiously won the vote, and the "People's Edition" was released, bringing some bonus goodies. This year for WWE '13, there's no poll for a collector's edition cover, but the superstar that was chosen was fitting, due to the game's new "Attitude Era" mode, which allows players to relive the WWE's best days in the late 90s to early 2000s. That superstar is none other than Stone Cold Steve Austin with the "Austin 3:16 Collector's Edition."
This is only going to be available on THQ's website and WWE stores with no word from retailers yet if they can sell this limited edition. The one-of-a-kind package will contain the game, an exclusive outfit and entrance for Stone Cold, a colllectible Austin skull, an art card autographed by the man himself and a disc from his latest WWE DVD. Plus, players will get codes to unlock Stone Cold as a playable character. This is in addition to the previously announced Mike Tyson, who is the pre-order bonus character for the standard edition. In his time with the WWE, Austin changed wrestling forever and made WWE the promotion to watch because of his crazy antics. The announcement trailer of the Austin 3:16 Collector's Edition is below. WWE '13 comes out on October 30 for Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii.
