Warner Brothers seek a Female Director for ‘Wonder Woman’

Wonder Woman is the most famous superhero and a important player in the DC Universe. She has appeared on TV in the 70s, in cartoons and a failed pilot for NBC and she is set to appear in
Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Last week Warner Brothers announced their upcoming slate of DC Universe movies including a
Wonder Woman movie for a 2018 release.
The Hollywood Reporter have broken the news that Warner Brothers are seeking a female director for the superhero movie.
Forbes have found out from their sources the shortlist of directors who are in line for the gig. On the list are Catherine Hardwicke (
Thirteen,
Twilight), Mimi Leder (
Deep Impact,
The Peacemaker), Karyn Kusama (
Girlfight,
Jennifer's Body) and Julie Taymor (
Across the Universe,
The Tempest,
Spider-man: Turn off the Dark). TV directors Michelle MacLaren (
Game of Thrones,
The Leftovers) and Tricia Brock
(The Walking Dead,
Saving Grace) are also in consideration and Warner Brothers acknowledge
Zero Dark Thirty director Kathryn Bigelow is a fan-favorite for the role, but suspect she would not be interested.
Israeli actress Gal Gadot is playing the famous Amazonian.
