Walking Dead Renewed for Season 7
A few days after last week’s shocking episode of
The Walking Dead, AMC announced that it would be renewing the series for a seventh season, as well as ordering a sixth season for the post-show chat series
Talking Dead.
The Walking Dead premiered in 2010 and has provided a ratings boost to AMC ever since. The series is based on Robert Kirkman’s Image Comics series and the showrunner is Scott Gimple. Even after being on for six seasons, fans continue to eagerly await each episode.
The Walking Dead has even come to define AMC, which was previously just known for prestige dramas like Breaking Bad and Mad Men. It is also partially responsible for the popular trend in turning comic-books into TV shows. The show even inspired a spin-off, Fear the Walking Dead, which just set the record for highest rated first season ever and will return next year for a second season.
The Walking Dead has become quite the phenomenon. Fans can look forward to more Walking and Talking next year on AMC, along with some brand new shows, Into the Badlands and Preacher.
