AMC has released a casting call for a new role on
The Walking Dead that sounds a lot like the character Ezekiel from the graphic novel series, according to
TVLine.

As comic fans know, Ezekial is the self-proclaimed king of the Kingdom (where the two armored gentlemen Carol and Morgan met in the season finale are from) and is described as “flamboyant and wise, nice and weird." In the comics, he also has a pet tiger named Shiva.
The show has continued to follow the comic books as a blueprint, for the most part, hitting major plot points from their stories. Next season, The Kingdom will be introduced as part of the trading network with the Hilltop, and as a potential ally in the fight against the Saviors and Negan.
The casting call is looking for an African-American actor in his 40s and refers to the character as Augustus.
The seventh season of
The Walking Dead is set to premiere this fall, so we will have to wait until then to find out. Maybe if a tiger is spotted on set, the answer will be revealed after all.
