Will Hulu Plus Get an A+ on PS3?

Hulu, the free TV and movie site that has blown up in popularity over the past two years, is currently beta testing its new, premium service. By invitation only, users can see what it’s like to view Hulu premium content, in HD, on their televisions. PS3 owners have to have a Playstation Plus subscription to get in on the beta action. Contrary to rumor, however, users will not need Playstation Plus to view Hulu Plus once it’s launched—whenever that is. It was supposed to be this month, but no date has been given.

Hulu Plus offers greater depth and breadth of content that its online counterpart. While often only the five most recent episodes of currently running shows are available online, the premium service will make whole seasons of shows available.

APB: One Week Later

It’s been a week since All Points Bulletin went live to the world in all its chaotic glory, and in that time I’ve ascertained new opinions on the lobby system masquerading as an MMO. While this might sound like an idea my geeky soon-to-be-husband talked me into, it was mine. It is these little celebrations of geek culture that put the spark in our relationship. We share a love of gaming, science fiction, cult television shows, and all things Star Wars. Our relationship is built on having fun together, and that’s the advantage geek relationships have. You haven’t lost touch with your childlike side.

There are plenty of geeky couples out there. Just search YouTube for “geek wedding” and you’ll see. But, what if that’s not you? Maybe you have a significant other but she won’t join your Guitar Hero band, no matter how hard you beg. Or maybe you’re working your joystick solo. You want a woman who not only tolerates your interest in gaming, but shares it.

3DS Shines at Game Critics Awards

Although E3 is over and done with for the year, following it every year is the prestigious Game Critics Awards. Despite some ridiculous acts of mother nature, and an even more ridiculous oil spill, 2010 is just like any year before it. Therefore, a week ago the nominees were decided on, the votes were finally tallied, and the big winners are Nintendo’s 3DS and id’s Rage.

Despite only winning two of eighteen awards, the 3DS received arguably the strongest awards with wins in the Best of Show and Best Hardware categories. In a similar fashion, Rage dominated the software front and was granted three awards: Best Console Game, Special Commendation for Graphics and Best Action Game.
