Doesn’t Killzone 3 Make Resistance 3 Futile?

A PS3 exclusive where aliens are invading our planet and humankind is on the brink of extinction from an enemy that has us outmatched and outgunned, okay… now the question is am I talking about Killzone or Resistance? That’s the problem with Sony publishing both of these games. To take a step back, after E3 it struck some people as a bit odd that Sony showed off Killzone 3 before a Resistance sequel. Mainly due to the fact that Resistance 2 came out before Killzone 2, so logic would dictate that Resistance 3 would release prior to Killzone 3. Especially with Resistance developer, Insomniac Games, development schedule of alternating between releasing a Ratchet and Resistance game every year.

Last Guardian at Tokyo Game Show

Fumito Ueda, the director of Team ICO and the mastermind behind ICO and Shadow of the Colossus, has just hinted on his Twitter page that we will finally get some more details on the highly anticipated Last Guardian at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show.

Up until now the details available for this PS3 exclusive have been thin. We know the game centres around the friendship between a giant bird called Trico and a young boy. But other than this, and what has been extracted from a few teaser trailers, there have so far been very few concrete facts. Judging by the team’s last two games though it seems likely that this outing will again contain a rich open world with the now familiar, but still completely unique, sense of style and solitude. The player will control the boy, while caring for and working with the bird, in order to solve puzzles and advance through the story.

The Monitor: Week 2

The floodgates have been fully opened, and the Halo news is pouring out. Just as predicted, this week has been full of surprises, and it’s safe to say the Halo hype train is chuggin’ along at full speed. However, with just over a month until Reach’s release, we’re entering dangerous ground. With constant Halo info comes the risk of possible leaks and spoilers. You can have confidence that The Monitor will provide the most Halo news possible without the risk of spoiling the game. Should any gray areas come about, I’ll be certain to warn you before proceeding.

Xbox Economist Double Feature

This week it’s double the savings, and double the fun. We have two games to offer you to try, and they’re at our usually low low price. So get ready to laugh, but be ready for a fright as well. This time the feature will be show you the best way to spend your buck, and give you the best fun to price ration possible. However unlike before it will be giving you double the usual amount of cheap games that you should try out, As always be mindful that there might be small spoilers, and that this is not a review (it’s a friendly recommendation). Also there may be naughty language.

Crystal Dynamics Announces DLC

In some slightly confusing news, Crystal Dynamics is announcing DLC… Downloadable Laura Croft. I at first thought this was Downloadable Content, and then I thought it was just a downloadable alternate costume. Turns out, it’s a bit of a combination of the two, I have come to the conclusion that this is the announcement of loads of DLC that will roll out for The Guardian of Light’s Xbox 360 version up until the end of the year, mainly from October-December.

New LBP 2 trailer reveals story and mechanics

Sony has recently released a new trailer for Media Molecule’s latest installment of the LittleBigPlanet franchise. The new footage reveals a “Cosmic-sized Adventure” where Sackboy will navigate his way across over fifty levels of gameplay. He will also have some support in the form of “The Alliance” which seems to be a group of special non-playable characters who will contribute to a more story-centric LBP2. In addition to new friends, Sackboy will now have an antagonist in the form of “The Evil Negativitron”, a dark presence that wants to destroy Craft World and everything inside.

Medal of Honor: Beta Thoughts

So this guy was all up in my house wondering… “What’s on the television set?&” and being the old fashioned type of dude that I am, I replied to him: “Looks like a penguin…” then he’s all like, “You stole that from Monty Python,” and I was all like… “No… there is a penguin on the set,” because at the time, I had a pet penguin I called Pub-the-dub and he liked the heat of the television set so he stayed up there. So then we got into this fight, and yada-yada-yada I started to play this game. Oh hi! I’m Tristan Wong, one of the writers for this fine site and recently I got my hands on something… something divine… something rich, something that involves a certain director named Steven Spielberg. This game is so legendary, I can’t even remember it’s divine na—wait… it’s in the title of this article, what the hell am I thinking…
