Mass Effect 2 on PS3, is the 360 in trouble?

The news of Mass Effect 2 arriving on PS3 is somewhat expected since EA bought Bioware, but it’s still a bit of a surprise, since the Mass Effect series has been a staple in the Xbox 360’s lineup. With that staple now gone, does Microsoft have a chink in its armor? They sure do. Overall, the PS3 has lost many more exclusives than the 360, but this is a huge blow to the 360’s library. This would be the equivalent of those pesky Metal Gear Solid 4 going to 360 rumors being true. Really, this is worse, since Mass Effect was synonymous with the Xbox 360, while MGS has been on the Gameboy, Xbox, and GameCube. Of course, Mass Effect has been on the PC, but it has always seemed like the 360’s baby… the same goes for Gears of War.

I’m not no German. But I do have news from Gamescom! Dragon Age 2! That now has a release date. Dragon Age 2 looks just as good. And it’s also made by Bioware. I guess people care about them? They’re important?

Killzone 3 multiplayer revealed

During Sony’s press conference at Gamescom 2010, Guerilla had an opportunity to show off a brief, yet gory, online multiplayer trailer of their latest first-person shooter Killzone 3. In addition to ISA and Helghast forces battling on foot, soldiers will now be able to use the new jetpacks with mounted turrets from the game’s campaign.

The trailer also introduced new bipedal mechs equipped with machine guns and rocket launchers. The gameplay was similar to F.E.A.R. 2’s mech combat which was one of the more enjoyable features found in F.E.A.R. 2’s online multplayer.

The multiplayer will also utilize the unique melee combat shown on other single player gameplay trailers for Killzone 3 complete with face-stabbing and neck-breaking.

Killzone 3 is tentatively scheduled for release in North America in late March of 2011.
