GT5 Delayed Again

It has just been confirmed that Gran Turismo 5 will now miss its November 2nd release date. This is the latest in a long string of delays for what is possibly the most anticipated PS3 game to date. Considering Polyphony Digital’s last full console release was GT4 way back in 2005, that makes GT5 an easy contender for the longest time a game has ever been in production.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow

There is artistry behind the visual presentation of Castlevania:Lords of Shadow, and it pays off wonderfully. I enjoyed this game on a visual level more so than any game since Shadow of the Colossus, but all of that would be for naught if it didn’t make sense within the context of the gameplay and this is the games biggest success.

Singularity Review

When I played Singularity, I didn’t expect much. I expected another one-shot fps with forgettable characters, barren gameplay and worse plot. While some predictions were true, many were not, as this game really maintains a vibrant and engaging atmosphere as soon as you begin. Singularity provides us with a smattering of genre conventions and gimmicks, but manages to present each one with perfect timing and execution. The enemies are varied and force you to adopt new tactics, from teleporting phase zombies to Russian soldiers to E99 ticks that attempt to swarm you with sheer number. It’s actually a pretty good game and ends right around it begins to get monotonous (thanks to that kickass minigun).

The Force Unleashed 2 Demo Hits Xbox Live and PSN

You still have a little while to wait before you can get your hands on the full copy of The Force Unleashed 2, but the good folks over at Lucasarts decided to stoke the fire a little bit by dropping a playable demo of the game onto Xbox Live and PSN a few weeks early.

That’s right, now you can experience the force like never before. Tighter controls and targeting, explosive environments in which to showcase ridiculously over the top Jedi abilities… What more could you ask for?

Bioshock Infinite Preview

If you weren’t a big fan of how Bioshock 2 felt like a cash-in on the rich atmosphere of Bioshock 1, get ready as there is news of a radically new Bioshock title in the works for 2012. Since the August 12th unveiling of Bioshock Infinite, more and more information is coming forward to illustrate the amazing heights it will reach. Emerging from the dank and dying underwater city of Andrew Ryan’s Rapture, Irrational Games takes the focus off Randian Objectivism in action to highlight the perils of propaganda and jingoism set in the floating sky-battlecity of Columbia. Created as a symbol of American exceptionalism at the dawn of the 20th century, Columbia has been corrupted from its original idealism. After it was involved in some kind of international incident, it has been lost to the civilized world for years; that is, until you show up.

Medal of Honor Preview

So far the new Medal of Honor game is best known for the hooplah over the fact that its multiplayer called one of factions “The Taliban”.  This was considered offensive to persons in the military, but was resolved weeks ago by renaming the bad guys the “Opposing Force”.  Gamers, who probably never cared about the controversy in the first place might still be wondering what this new installment in the franchise has to offer, aside from the moral panic over the team names.  With the game’s imminent release, Player Affinity will take a look at what is to be expected.
