Gog.com Rewarding Beta Users With Free Game, Holding Mid-Week Sale

An update to our Mid-Week sales roundup, Good Old Games (Gog.com) has spent the last month trying to repair their image after pulling a shameless publicity stunt back in September.  Their latest ploy to regain the respect of the classic games community is giving away a free game to their long-time customers, while also holding a mid-week sale on products published by Strategy First.

Store and PSN Releases for 10/19/10

Sony seems to have been storing games up somewhere because it is a huge week for new releases, especially in the stores. The game likely to get most attention this week is Fallout: New Vegas. But Vanquish, an intense third-person shooter has been getting some fairly decent reviews, so might also be work a look

Mid-Week Sales October 19 2010

I’m sure everyone is too busy exploring post-apocalyptic Nevada in Fallout New Vegas to bother with the other games on sale this week, but for those who aren’t fighting Ghouls on the Vegas strip, there are a few good deals to be found online with these Midweek sales.  Games For Windows is still selling Street Fighter IV at half off for $14.99, and GamersGate.com is also selling it for half off, along with a 50% discount on sixteen other co-operative games.  Unfortunately Gamer’s Gate will only give you half off on Street Fighter IV if you buy the Two pack.  No, really.

Assassins Creed: Brotherhood Beta Preview

Assassins Creed 2 was an impressive single player experience that came close to winning many writers’ game of the year awards in 2009. Since the game lacked a multiplayer component, it was hard to rationalize a GOTY title when you consider the continued enjoyment associated with the replay value of multiplayer. Ubisoft hopes to cover all their bases with the release of Assassins Creed: Brotherhood.

Bethesda Developing Fallout New Vegas DLC

Fallout: New Vegas, releasing tomorrow, has already had DLC announced for it. I quite enjoyed Fallout 3 but so far have been very skeptical on New Vegas. The fact that they’re planning on releasing DLC for New Vegas (that is developed by Bethesda) shows a certain amount of confidence in their product which could mean it’s better than Obsidian’s (the developer of Fallout: New Vegas) last game, Alpha Protocol.
