As most publishers tend to use Black Friday as an unofficial Christmas deadline for game releases, this week only has one store release for the PS3, which is TRON: Evolution. When I received my copy of Nail’d in the mail I had no expectations for the game, partially because I had no idea what type of game it was. Before I ripped open the packaging I expected some new extreme carpentry simulator or perhaps even an innuendo laced romp similar to the Leisure Suit Larry series. Instead of those equally interesting choices, I got a questionably named arcade racing title. Needless to say, I was underwhelmed.
Sony have been talking about their ten year lifespan for the PS3 from day one, and Microsoft have suggested Kinect will add another five years to the Xbox 360’s life. But even so, as the 360 celebrates its fifth birthday the current consoles are starting to show their age, and behind closed doors both Sony and Microsoft must be at the stage of starting to think very seriously about what comes next.
