Dead Space 2 Demo Impressions

Dead Space 2 is the highly anticipated sequel to the deep space horror game, Dead Space. This franchise was one of the most successful new IPs for Electronic Arts in 2008, and Dead Space 2 looks to continue its success in 2010. Now that there’s a public demo out for everyone to see and experience, I played through it hoping for the same amount of innovation and horror that was in Dead Space.

Zulguruf: One Werewolf’s Journey Through The World Of Warcraft

Now that we’ve had a couple of weeks to explore World of Warcraft Cataclysm, and the hype has settled down, fans can turn their focus to the issue of whether or not the new Azeroth is really more fun than the previous version.  Aside from new quests, and earthquakes shaking up all the existing locations, players also now have the chance to play as a Goblin, a race that’s been long neglected in WoW.  Also, players get to try something new, Worgen, a race of werewolves.

Battlefield Bad Company 2: Vietnam PS3 Review

Battlefield Bad Company 2 is widely considered to be one of the best multiplayer experiences on the current set of consoles. With crisp graphics, a deep set of customization options, destructible environments, and gameplay that actually encouraged teamwork, B Company’s second outing was no slouch. Unfortunately, with developer DICE’s current status as EA’s workhorse, there was not much time in their schedule between Medal of Honor and Battlefield 3 to actually expand upon the juggernaut they had created. Finally, after months of waiting, the first significant expansion to the game has been released. Is it worth the wait?

Xbox Live Update – 12/23/10

So, the update is a day late this week – apologies, but hopefully you were spending the time getting ready for the holidays, if you were not already enjoying them. Anywho, the multiplayer expansion Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam headlines the list of Marketplace updates this week. This Bad Company 2 DLC contains four new multiplayer maps based around the Vietnam War, including 15 weapons and 6 vehicles based on technology from that time period.

The Wild West got some Marketplace love as well with the release of Red Dead Redemption on Games on Demand and the arrival of Dead Money, the first DLC expansion to Fallout: New Vegas. Arcade games releases were a bit skimpy this week, especially after last week’s nostalgia triple-whammy of X-Men, Bomberman and Quake. Arcade fans do have World of Keflings to look forward to, the review of which should be up on this site shortly.

Ubisoft Confirms Plans For Splinter Cell Trilogy In HD

Ubisoft recently confirmed the rumors that they would be porting three of last generation’s best stealth games to the PS3. Splinter Cell Trilogy HD, which would presumably consist of Splinter Cell, Pandora Tomorrow, and Chaos Theory, will release on the PS3 at a date yet to be specified. Oddly enough, no mention has yet been made of a 360 version of this trilogy. This is especially strange given that the original Xbox was the lead platform for Clancy’s stealth franchise. No further information has been made available, but we will keep you updated.

Oddworld Stranger’s Wrath Review

The first Oddworld game showed up on the Playstation in 1997, and there have been three more games since then, not including the various handheld versions.  The most recent Oddworld game was Stranger’s Wrath from 2005, which was only available on the XBox.  That’s XBox 1 for you young’uns.  The first two Oddworld games were ported over to PC, but 2001’s Munch’s Oddysee, and Stranger, were only available on the XBox, and Stranger was never even patched to run on 360.  That’s why fans of cult games are so happy that all four Oddworld games have arrived on PC in one digital pack called The OddBoxx.
