Marvel Vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds Review

The new age of heroes are here to kick butt and take
names, and after a decade of wondering if this game would ever come
into being, Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is finally here. If you’ve
never played the series before, let me just inform you this is not your
typical fighting game. This is more of an action fighting game, in the
sense that the first few matches are going to be chaotic looking.
There’s characters popping in and out of the screen. There’s combos
popping up all over the screen. Before you know it, you’re dead without
even getting a hit in. But with much practice comes great benefits.

Demiurge Studios Announces Shoot Many Robots

The title pretty much says it all, and the new video released today confirms it.  In the new downloadable arcade game Shoot Many Robots, you will discharge projectiles at a large number of automatons.  It even has four-player online co-op to quadruple the number of lead balls launched at metallic beings.

New Releases This Week For PS3 (2-15-11)

So here we are, back again
for another week of new PlayStation 3 content. The biggest game out this week
in stores must undoubtedly be Marvel vs
Capcom 3: The Fate of Two Worlds
. The game has been a long time coming, and
any fan of either Capcom fighters or Marvel Comics should enjoy this excellently
balanced and good looking fighter. The other main store release is the very Japanese
Hyperdimension Neptunia which is an
RPG with 3D battle environment using turn-based gameplay. The game takes place
in the world of Gamindustri which you must defend against the evil goddess Arfoire.

Crysis 2 Demo Coming To PC

Finally!  The original Crysis was a PC exclusive and it’s a big enough insult that the sequel is going to be released on consoles at all, but EA threw a little salt into that would by releasing the demo on consoles first.  Well, on March 1st, PC gamers will at last be allowed to try out the new Crysis on our rigs with a multiplayer demo of our own.

Dear Esther – Preview

I’ve repeatedly said that the greatest advantage that PC’s have over consoles is that PC gamers get to make mods for our games, and play mods made by other fans.  This often leads to us having to suffering through amateurish crap, but there are also some terrific mods out there that are better than many full-fledged games. In fact, occasionally a mod team will create a product so good that they will be noticed by a professional developer and their mod will get turned into a full game.  An excellent example of this is the Half Life 2 mod Dear Esther.

New Batman Arkham City Screenshots

The game is still about six months away, but the PR folk at Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment are steadily releasing tantalizing morsels of information about the next installment in the Arkham Asylum series.  It’s just a thinly veiled attempt to build an irresistible juggernaut of hype over the new Batman game, but hey, we’re glad to play along because we here at Player Affinity are as excited about this game as anyone else.

Midweek Sales Tuesday February 15th

It’s shaping up to be quite a good week in terms of online game sales.  Steampowered.com is holding a Square Enix week, with a different game by Squenix on sale every day.  Today, it’s the whole Just Cause franchise; you can get the first Just Cause game for $3.75, or the sequel for $7.50.  This deal is only good for today, Tuesday the 15th.  Steam is also holding a big huge bundle sale on the entire Squenix catalogue; that’s dozens of games for $75!
