Console Exclusives We Want on PC: Brutal Legend

The powerful gaming rigs that we call our PCs can run games on far superior graphical settings than consoles. They support massive online worlds of every shape and size ranging from Planetside to World of Warcraft. They can run classic games from bygone eras thanks to emulators, but alas, no such emulator exists for modern consoles. This means that PC gamers are still left out when it comes to the odd game here or there.

Xbox Live 3 Pack of Games

Amazon.com has posted a 3 pack of Xbox Live games. Limbo, Trials HD, and Splosion Man
will be made available to buy on one disc. They have the disc priced at
$29.99, which is a good price if you are interested in all three games.
Limbo is currently $15.00 on Xbox Live, Trials HD is also $15.00 on Xbox Live, and Splosion Man is currently $10.00, which makes this 3 pack disc a good value. This means you get Splosion Man for free which is from what I hear an amazing game.

PS3 Portal 2 Difficulty Explained by Erik Wolpaw

Valve’s
Erik Wolpaw had a chat with Joystiq recently to discuss the difficulty
questions some players had, as well as discuss minor Steam features that
will be on the PlayStation 3.

According to Joystiq, Erik Wolpaw states that “one of the things we learned after releasing Portal 1 was that there were a couple puzzles in Portal 1
that required some sort of twitchy ninja skills to actually execute the
solution.” He goes on to explain that Valve is pushing for more light
bulb clicks than frustrating controller throwing rage fits. According to
Valve, a lot of players quit “universally” after running into a few
difficult puzzles. Are they dumbing down the puzzles? Actually, they’re
not. They’re trying to rid the game of too many “ninja-ish” features. In
other words, you’ll spend time solving puzzles rather than cloning
actions found in Mirror’s Edge.

Weekend PC Sales Saturday March 12th

My original plans for this weekend were to be either blowing enemies away in Bulletstorm or stepping into the role of Hawke in Dragon Age 2.
Unfortunately due to me blowing the money I had put away for those
brand new games on repairs for my computer, I shall have to find
something on this weekend’s sales list to play.

The
first place I would go for gaming sales on the PC is and will likely
always be Steam. This weekend they’re featuring a slew of sales with
which Valve plans to steal your money.
Firstly, there is a promotion for Shogun 2: Total War happening this weekend. Every day a new Total War game goes on sale (today’s game being Rome: Total War for $3.75), and the Total War collection featuring a decade’s worth of Total War games is also on sale for $99. Steam is also running sales on Crazy Machines, Crasher, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, Wings of Prey and Majesty 2.

Batman Arkham City Opens its Gates in October

This is
about as good as news can really get with regards to Arkham City, well apart
from Rocksteady calling you up and telling you they’ve mailed you a copy.
Seeing as the latter is unlikely to happen, you’ll have to make do with this,
Warner Bros has confirmed the release date for Batman: Arkham City.
