Shadow Harvest: Phantom Ops – Review

Shadow Harvest: Phantom Ops has a lot going for it.  It combines old-school shooters with stealth gaming to put players in control of two operatives who try to take down bad guys in the year 2025.  Because it’s set in the near future, it gives gamers access to sci-fi spy equipment, while also employing cover-based gunplay.  However all of these great ideas don’t pan out due to numerous tech issues, and some bad design choices.

Two Worlds 2 Expansion Coming, Flying Fortresses

While Two Worlds 1 was mostly atrocious, Two Worlds 2 was fairly well received. It seemed to have its own little unique charm that people ate up. Apparently, that game sold around 2.5 million copies. Also apparently, Reality Pump (the developers) enjoy adding content to it as there will be a new expansion releasing this September entitled Pirates of the Flying Fortress.

“The story plunges the player headlong into an adventure that is more than astonishing! The good old “Two Worlds” atmosphere waits, which is yet quite different this time around. Exotic flair, new enemies, new settings and new weapons – all fans are in for a shocking surprise!” –Press Release

Along

New Backbreaker Game Announced, Tackle Alley Returns

Yesterday I reported that Natural Motion and 505 Games had teased a new Backbreaker game. Today they made it official by announcing that the new Backbreaker game will be titled Backbreaker: Vengeance and will be exclulsive to Xbox Live Arcade.

Backbreaker: Vengeance takes the intensity and AAA appeal of the originalBackbreaker Football console game and combines it with the pick-up-and-play nature of the multi-million selling iPhone games to create a whole new one-of-a-kind sports experience for digital download on Xbox LIVE Arcade for Xbox 360. It takes as its inspiration the wildly popular “Tackle Alley” mini-game in Backbreaker Football to deliver an all-new arcade slant on football.”
