Devil May Cry E3 Trailer

Capcom
has shown off a new trailer for their upcoming reboot of character
action franchise Devil May Cry. As expected, the complete overhaul of
the main character, Dante, is still in the cards. Gone is the gothic/punk inspired hero of twelve years ago and he has been
replaced with a more modern and fresh interpretation of his
predecessor. The trailer seems to carry a new tone for the franchise.
There are no cheesy lines, in fact Dante has nothing to say at all,
which is not at all typical for the series. The over the top action
associated with the series maintains and it appears as though Capcom
has tried to push it even further, perhaps because of the high
standard that have been set by Bayonetta. Overall, it seems as per
usual for the Devil May Cry series, which is somewhat disappointing
given they had a real chance to mix things up with this reboot.

More Details on Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary

This clears
up a lot of the questions I’ve had about this game. What 343 have done is
essentially made the Reach engine run over the top of the old game. This means
that the gameplay is identical to that of the original Halo, so the pistol is
finally back after 10 years. I was pretty much sold when I saw the assault
rifle packs 60 rounds again, co-op play over Xbox live is also confirmed. There
isn’t anything concrete regarding the multiplayer apart from what was mentioned
about the gameplay. However, it certainly looks a lot more like Reach than it
does the original Halo.

The
first glimpses of Sony’s next generation portable gaming device
surfaced months ago, but now the E3 press conference has revealed an
official title for the project as well as a price. The once dubbed
“NGP” is now the PlayStation “Vita” which means “Life” in
Latin. This name was chosen because the Vita allows for a
revolutionary combination of
rich gaming and social connectivity within a real world context.”
The goal of the project is to bring together users and provide a rich
gaming and social networking experience wherever they are, with
connectivity being the key. Sony claims that it was vital to design
the new portable device so that users could connect to their
entertainment world regardless of location. The PS Vita will enable
infinite possibilities for friends to encounter, connect, share and
play no matter where you are.

Battlefield 3 Dated, Promised to be Gritty

Battlefield 3, the highly anticipated title from European developer DICE, has been shown at E3 and officially been dated. On October 25, 2011, the Frostbite 2 engine is slated to amaze and dazzle, with brand new multiplayer gameplay and some amazing graphics. DICE has mentioned that they are working closely with “highly decorated ex-SAS operator and acclaimed author”, Andy McNab, “to ensure the authenticity and grittiness of today’s war is captured in both the single player and multiplayer campaigns”.  Battlefield: Bad Company 2 showed the original Frostbite engine’s prowess with superior sound design and amazing visuals all around. If that game wasn’t even made to be all that realistic, it’s going to be amazing to see what they do with experts on board.

Star Raiders (XBLA) Review

Following Yar’s Revenge and Haunted House comes another Atari 2600 reboot.  The original Star Raiders can be attributed to inspiring the genre in the first person viewpoint and Atari have charged Incinerator Studios with paying tribute to the 1979 classic and creating an all-new space combat simulator worthy of the name and the ever-increasing list of good games on XBLA and PSN.
