Unleash Your Rage Upon The Gods In Asura’s Wrath

Asura’s Wrath is just the game I needed to see at E3 this year. For the most part the entire show has been pretty stock. Sure its always interesting to catch a glimpse of something new from games like Gears of War 3 or Uncharted 3 but for the most part we already know they will probably be quality titles and just from playing previous entries in either series can tell just how they going to play. In the context of E3 they just are not the type of game I want to see. Asura’s wrath however, is unlike anything you could have seen before.

The game is off the charts in terms of scale and sheer amount of craziness contained in it. The art style alone is incredibly unique. It meshes Japanese mythology with a healthy dose of sci-fi to create an image that is individual to anything you could have really seen before. Capcom’s Kazuhiro Tsuchiya spoke about the art style as something that was sprouted by an inital desire to have no influence from any other games to come through. They wanted to create something completely new for Asura’s Wrath and they have, for the most part, achieved that.

13 Minutes with Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3

The pre-requisite Call Of Duty game for this year’s E3 is Modern Warfare 3, but it might as well just be calledCoD: The New One given the predictable release schedule for the series.  In fact, Activision should probably adopt the Madden naming system, and just go with Call of Duty 2011.  Regardless, CoD: More Of The Same still looks quite good, and with the E3 video below, you can take a peek at thirteen minutes of the single-player campaign.

New Gears of War 3 details from Cliff Bleszinski

Holy crap that was hard to keep up with, I wasn’t expecting so much information to be announced about the game. The vast majority of the it is for Horde mode, which sounds absolutely brilliant. He also hints at the possibility of another Gears title, we already know about the Kinect one, so maybe they will go the prequel route, which would be a pretty great direction for them to go in.

Halo Anniversary Release date announced

Frank O’Connor
has just revealed some more news regarding the upcoming Halo Anniversary
edition. Perhaps the most important thing being a confirmed release date, the
15th of November. He also confirmed that the multiplayer will use
the Reach game engine, I imagine there will be a lot more details revealed in
August at the Halo fest. Firefight will be in the game and have its own unique
map, the multiplayer will also have 6 traditional maps, so expect to see fan favourites.
It’s obvious from the brief interview with Frank that a lot of the new content
is likely to be found in the multiplayer and unfortunately, is under wraps as
of now. But speculation is half of the fun on events like this, so get to it in
the comments.

Does Microsoft Need Some New Exclusive IP’s?

Halo: Combat
Evolved
anniversary, a new Halo trilogy and Gears of War 3
they are the heavy
hitters this E3 for the Xbox 360. But their showcasing really makes something
hit home with regards to Microsoft’s exclusives. That being the barrel is
drying out fast!  I love both Halo and Gears of War, but they’re not going to be
enough to carry another console. Mass Effect and BioShock were huge losses for
the Xbox 360, and the overwhelmingly negative reaction to the Kinect-based
Fable is not good news for them either.
