Steam Adds Facebook Connect to Help Players Find Friends

Steam has added Facebook to expand the social networking portion of their frontend. Features include: importing friends you know on Facebook into your Steam friends list, and adding additional profile information brought in from the most popular social network onto your Steam profile. Presumably it will also allow achievement progress and purchase information to be posted on to your Facebook profile, similar to how the Playstation Network connects to your Facebook profile to inform your friends of trophies you’ve earned and purchases made on the Playstation Store. This could add an interesting layer, as it’s free advertising for the games by saying “Hey, I got this game! You might want to as well!”.

Rumour Alert: Timesplitters 4 in development for next Xbox and Playstation

Here is something that will certainly get people talking. Now I must stress that none of the following is confirmed, niether Crytek or Microsoft has commented on this rumour, the information has supposedly come from Crytek themselves. There are no specifications for the system as of now but Crytek are using Microsoft’s DirectX 11 as the standard for their next console. The console is said to be announced at next year’s E3, while this is believed to be earlier than when Sony will announce theirs, the game is still intended for Sony’s next system too.

First DLC combatant dated for Mortal Kombat, Rain and Kenshi to follow

Yet another
one adding to the pile of reasons that I need to buy Mortal Kombat. Anyway,
great news for those of you who still into all the combos, x-rays and fatalities.

although no date has been announced for them as of now. And to top all of this
off, a fourth character will follow Rain, if it’s Bo Rai Cho then I’m sold. Be
sure to tear up the comments with your own guesses.

Duke Nukem Forever – PC Review

At this point, Duke Nukem Forever has become a legend, regardless of it’s quality. It has been in development hell for the past 14 years, and considered dead for a while, only to be rescued by Gearbox Studios and 2K. Now, it’s been released, and while the fact that it has been finished at all is something of a minor miracle, the actual game is far from miraculous.

Midweek Sales Tuesday June 14th

Steam is having something of an off day.  Their big Midweek Madness sale is Darkspore for 40% off.  That makes it $29.95; not really “Madness”, more like a perfectly reasonable price. Asking fifty bucks for the thing was the true madness.

Duke Nukem Forever – Xbox Review

Duke Nukem Forever is finally here, after 14 years of delays and poking fun at both the studio and the game itself, you can finally play Duke Nukem Forever. The question that I imagine people want answered the most is whether or not the game has been worth the wait, the short answer would be a resounding “No” and more importantly, the game is just plain bad across all fronts. I’m sorry to say that what follows is not going to be easy to read if you were hoping that this game would deliver on over two generations of promises.
