Dungeon Siege III – Xbox Review

There is no secret mule level.  While the first two Dungeon Siege games were Diablo clone click-fests that even gave you a mule to haul your loot, the new game in the series takes this franchise in a whole new direction.  It’s still an action RPG, but it’s now a streamlined affair with vastly upgraded graphics and combat, courtesy of a new developer, publisher and engine.

Game Play Theatre Festival Returns This Summer

Tired of people calling you an uncultured lout because all you do is play video games?  Sure, we know that video games are art, but you know what else is art?  Theatre!  As in hip, intellectual cutting-edge New York City off-off-Broadway theatre.  If you want a little culture in your life, but don’t want to have to actually learn anything about Shakespeare, then head to the Brick Theater’s third annual Game Play Theatre Festival, which is a month-long extravaganza of live performances about video games.

How Much Life is Left in the Xbox 360?

After that
rumor regarding Microsoft announcing their successor to the Xbox 360 at next
year’s E3 and the Wii U supposedly starting the next generation early next
year, it’s not absurd to think that the 360 could be coming to the end of its
life cycle. But don’t go throwing it out just yet – after all, the rumor about the
next Xbox is just a rumor and there’s not much information regarding the technical
capability of the Wii U console.

Dungeon Siege 3 PS3 Review

Dungeon
Siege 3
is the latest release in the Dungeon Siege franchise and it
marks the first time the series has ever made an appearance on
consoles. It follows the story of the 10th Legionnaires as
they seek to rebuild after the fallout of a civil war with the tyrant
Jeyne Kassynder. Unfortunately, the story is largely uninteresting
and dull. The game never does a good job of making you really want to
get revenge on Jeyne and for the most part, it feels like a series of
abstract events that reach a conclusion that very loosely gives you a
purpose to move forward. The specific story elements and reasons for
doing what you are doing are never explained very well and it all
feels rushed as area after area passes by with no real story
development of any kind
just constant reminders that you must stop
Jeyne Kassynder, a villain that is impossible to form an opinion on
as she is never encountered for almost of the entire game.

City of Heroes: Freedom Turns Franchise Free-to-Play

City of Heroes: Freedom has recently emerged from the original City of Heroes and its expansions, bringing the massively multiplayer online game into the new free-to-play age. Existing customers of the online game will continue in the free-to-play version as VIP members, while new players will come in as free players who have the usual limitations applied. VIP players unlock a large quantity of content and items not available to the free players, and a lot of new content is being put into a store to be bought with “Paragon Points” (400 per month of which are given to VIP players continuing their normal City of Heroes subscription). Paragon Points will be the currency purchased for items and content on the “Paragon Market”, the new cash shop.
