World of Warcraft Transitioning Into Free-To-Play

World of Warcraft
took its first steps to becoming completely free to play yesterday,
adding a “Starter Edition” that allows players to play for free up to
level 20. The news came alongside Blizzard merging the original game and
its first expansion, “The Burning Crusade,” into a singular package.
This means that its two exclusive races, Draenei and Blood Elf, are
available to Starter Edition players as well. A list of limitations for
these free players was released shortly after the news as well:

Limbo Comes to PSN

The previously XBLA exclusive title
Limbo is set to be released on PSN, which should apparently create a unified chorus of joy from PS3-only owners, as I do hear the
game is quite good. Its arrival was made official with news from a Korean
ratings board.
Limbo sold over 750,000 copies on XBLA
and it is sure to repeat a somewhat similar success on the PSN, where
Limbo will fit in nicely. It joins other highly praised downloadable
titles, Braid and Castle Crashers, as games that have jumped to PSN
after experiencing a period of exclusivity on Xbox. It is a shame
that these quality games have to be hidden away from PSN for so long
but it is better than never experiencing them at all, right? Owning an Xbox I
have most certainly had the chance to play Limbo, but it just
never interested me. The art and atmosphere the game offers always
intrigued me but the gameplay seemed a little listless, flat and
unforgiving. Perhaps this new PSN release will encourage me to play
it; however, somehow I doubt it.

‘Batman: Arkham City’ Box Art Revealed

As the
months fall off the calendar, the wait for Batman: Arkham City is getting a
little easier. It’s safe to say that almost everyone is eagerly anticipating
the game’s release this October. Warner Bros. has released a snap of the box
art; it’s not much, but when considering the game, anything is better than
nothing. They probably could have just released the spine of it and some people
would still probably flip their lid over this.

L.A Noire Nicholson Electroplating Review

Nicholson Electroplating Disaster, is the first L.A Noire DLC that Rockstar put out. The case is base on the real world O’Connor Electro-Plating plant explosion, that killed 17 people in 1947, but the developer, Team Bondi, changed the facts of the case to fictionalize it. Like the two pre order DLC, A Slip of the Tongue and The Naked City, Nicholoson Electronplating is a diversion from the plot, which is woven into the all of the cases. If you chose to skip out on this adventure, you wouldn’t be missing anything vital. What would you would be missing an intriguing case with some of the best action scenes in the game.

Origin, EA, And Exclusives

Electronic Arts recently announced their new PC release platform Origin. Whether this attempt will stand up more powerfully than previous attempts like EA Link remains to be seen, but EA’s Frank Gibeau has made it clear that they will be pushing the plaform hard by making many of their upcoming (and existing) releases exclusive to Origin.
