Achron: Hands On Preview

Time travel is one of the most interesting ideas that science fiction plays with, and dozens of films and books have been written about the possibility that you could go back in time and fix your mistakes. Tons of video games have used time travel as a plot device but very few have actually incorporated it as a mechanic (the only ones that comes to mind for me are Prince of Persia and Braid).

For those of you that bought inFamous 2, the multiplayer beta for Uncharted 3 is available now for you jump in and enjoy. Everyone else will gain access from July 5th and last until the 13th, and first impressions are simply great. Uncharted 3 is easily the Playstation 3’s biggest exclusive this year and, as such, it has incredible expectations to live up to. I haven’t played a great deal of the multiplayer in Uncharted 2, but what I’ve seen so far from this beta is certainly impressive.

Shareholders Tell Sony CEO to Step Down

If
you were a CEO of a company, it’s never good to hear your shareholders
tell you to quit your job and let someone else take over.
This happened to Sony CEO Howard
Stringer recently. Sony’s current image
and future plans were topics of concern at their shareholder meeting,
held, most notably, after the PSN hacking debacle. Stringer commented:
“I think you see that cyber
terrorism is now a global force, affecting many more companies than just Sony.
If hackers can hack Citibank, the FBI and the CIA, and yesterday the video game
company Electronics Arts, then it’s a negative situation that governments may
have to resolve.”
