A Primer on Deus Ex

Prior to this week’s release of Deus Ex: Human Revolution,
gamers had gone eight years without the release of a new game in the
series, leading to an understandable lack of familiarity with the series
among certain gamers. That’s okay though, because the new game is a
prequel, and does a good job of introducing people who don’t know much
about it to the setting while allowing veterans to jump right back into
things. But if you’re still curious about what the deal is, here’s an
overview of the series, its plot, and the first two games it spawned.

Indie Summer Uprising Continues with T.E.C. 3001

The Xbox Live Indie Games Summer Uprising nears the end of its first week with today’s offering of T.E.C. 3001.  T.E.C. is one of the more visually striking indie games in the promotion, and puts players in the metal feet of an android that jumps his way through 21 levels of 3-D platforming with a playstyle similar to Canabalt.

Kinect Star Wars Pushed Back to 2012

Microsoft has confirmed that Kinect
Star Wars, along with the Star Wars-themed Xbox 360 console, will not meet its
previously announced launch date of holiday 2011.

A Microsoft spokesperson told OXM (Official Xbox Magazine) that “Microsoft
and LucasArts have elected to move the launch of Kinect Star Wars beyond
holiday 2011 to ensure the full potential of this title is realized…This move
applies to both the Kinect Star Wars stand-alone game and the Kinect Star Wars
Limited Edition Console. We will communicate additional timing information at a
later date.”

Kanye West To Rudely Interrupt Call of Duty XP

Activision will have no one to blame but themselves for whatever Kanye West does on September 3rd at the Call of Duty XP convention.  He’s scheduled to “Perform” at this first official Call of Duty con which will occur on September 2nd and 3rd in LA.

Telltale Games Titles Coming to Wii

Us PC gamers will have to be a little less smug from now on, because one of our best publishers is going to start releasing games for one of the consoles.  Telltale Games, the lovely people behind PC exclusive adventure franchises like Sam & Max, Monkey Island and Puzzle Agent announced that they’ll be bringing their products to Nintendo’s Wii.

NYC Fringe Festival The Star Debate

The New York City Fringe Festival gives us hundreds of artsy new plays every year.  But this year, it’s also giving us boobs.  Boobs attached to women dressed like characters from Star Trek and Star Wars.  You can see these naked space women in a Burlesque/ Comedy show called The Star Debate: Trek VS Wars.
