There’s a lot of doubt surrounding the upcoming (and currently in beta) browser-based MMO Battlestar Galactica Online, but it looks like it’s already gaining quite a playerbase with a reported 5 million players registered since the game went into open beta in February this year.
Bethesda has revealed about 20 minutes of gameplay footage (In 3 parts below), so feel free to explore the world of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim yourself. The footage is from the gameplay demo shown at E3, which was released to the public yesterday.
It’s interesting to play Dead Island hot on the heels of Deus Ex, since both games fall into the same genre: First Person Action RPG. Gamers might have thought that Dead Island was a blend of shooter and survival horror; and it certainly is that, however it has the heart of a Role Playing Game.
Over the years, EA Sports provided the best Hockey game to play on your respected platform. With little competition from2K Sports, as the NHL 2k series is taking a break to reinvigorate the franchise. So once again EA Sports has returned to hit the ice in NHL 12. The bar was already set high for this year’s version. So does it live up to expectations?
I’m not ashamed to admit that I played the original Deus Ex on a Macintosh Powerbook. That $3,000 slab of black plastic had 8 MEGS of VRAM but was still the most powerful laptop Apple made at the time. It was just barely able to run the game but it brought me hours of portable cyberpunk joy eleven years ago. Now a new generation of Mac gamers with their fancy Intel processors with be able to enjoy the latest Deus Ex game thanks to a port made by Feral Interactive.
While EA has said
that it doesn’t expect Battlefield 3 to
beat Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
in terms of sales, it will certainly be a close battle. EA CFO Eric Brown has
confirmed that Battlefield 3 has
received 1.25 million preorders so far. He also noted that these figures top Battlefield 3’s predecessor, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, by more than
ten times.
With Epic Games’ Gears of War 3 right around the corner,
it’s now a good time to look back at where it all began, with Gears of War, originally released in
November of 2006. This is the game where Marcus Fenix and the Locust plight were
first introduced to the world, and the success this game achieved is
undeniable.
But why has this
