Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Finally Gets a Release Date

Ubisoft’s entry to the military shooter market Ghost Recon: Future Soldier has finally gotten a solid release date – the 6th of March 2012. Throughout the games development, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier has undergone numerous delays leading to its latest release date. Ubisoft claimed previous delays were the result of a desire to strengthen its video game lineup.

Rumors of a Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer Mode Flare Once More

The notion of a Mass Effect multiplayer spin-off has been going around for well over a year and the rumors of this addition to the latest game in the series Mass Effect 3 were renewed when a South African retailer listed Online Multiplayer Pass as a bonus item for gamers who bought the Collector’s Edition of the game.

South African games retailer BT Games advertised that the Collector’s Edition of ME3 would include an “Online Multiplayer Pass” among other things, and this has renewed talk of the RPG series getting a multiplayer mode. This news follows the recent claim by UK magazine Xbox World, which teases the reveal of a “killer new feature” for Mass Effect 3.

Assassin’s Creed Revelations Delayed for PC

At this point, it is simply expected for Ubisoft to delay the PC versions of their multiplatform games, and this next piece of news does not break that trend. The PC versions of Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, Tom Clancy’s HAWX 2, Driver: San Francisco, and Call of Juarez: The Cartel have all trailed far behind their console counterparts, and Ubisoft is following the same route with  Assassin’s Creed: Revelations.

According to Eurogamer, Ubisoft’s official Czech Facebook page was updated with the news that the PC version of Assassin’s Creed: Revelations would be released on December 2nd, 2011, a couple of weeks after the console versions’ November 15th release date. This Facebook update has long since been pulled, and any links provided by Eurogamer lead the user to a “content unavailable” notice.

Playstation Steps Up Its Downloadable Exclusivity with “Only for PSN”

A system is only as strong as its downloadable content, and with the announcement of “Only for PSN” this morning on the Playstation blog, Playstation looks to be throwing its hat into the ring with Microsoft.  While the Playstation Network was never necessarily lacking in content between PS1 classic releases for around 6 dollars a piece in addition to the more expansive, cross-platform games, the amount of games that were PSN exclusive were not as vast as, say, Xbox Live exclusives.  A while back, there was an announcement that Playstation had spent roughly $20 million dollars on content exclusive to the PS3 and the result of that enterprise is this program. In addition to releasing an expanse of downloadable games, Sony plans to release PS2 classics such as God Hand and Maximo: Ghosts to Glory.

Batman: Arkham City Xbox 360 Bundle Revealed, Only in Europe?

Observant gamers have spotted a Batman: Arkham City Xbox 360 bundle available for preorder on Amazon’s German website. The bundle has not yet been officially confirmed by Microsoft or Arkham City developer Rocksteady, and it is still unclear if it will be released in North America. The listing for the bundle is 279.99 Euros, approximately 380 U.S. dollars. However, unlike the previously announced Kinect Star Wars andCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Xbox 360 consoles, the Arkham City bundle will not include a special console with special Batman features. Instead, the bundle will come with a standard 250GB Xbox 360 console..

Gears of War 3 Hits 3 Million Sales in Just a Week

It’s no surprise that Xbox 360 gamers love their Gears of War, and the first week sales of Gears of War 3prove this point soundly. Microsoft announced that the final game in the trilogy has surpassed 3 million sales since its launch on September 20. With these stellar figures, Gears 3 is the best-selling game so far in 2011. Microsoft Corporate Vice President Phil Spencer said “Gears of War 3 kicked off the biggest holiday in Xbox history with a bang last week, setting the standard for the kinds of amazing, action-packed experiences gamers should expect on Xbox 360 this year.”
