Battlefield 3: Did DICE Deliver?

Unless you’ve been living in a cave for the past year, you know EA has a
lot vested in Battlefield 3.  EA has been very vocal in regards to the
what they want to do with the franchise: sock it to Call of Duty.  So
now that Battlefield 3 is out, how does it stand up?  Did DICE deliver
some bite to that EA brass bark?  The answer, as you might expect, is

Survey Says Xbox 360 Failure Rate Dropping

If you’ve owned an Xbox 360, chances
are very high that you’ve experienced the infamous “red ring of death,”
something that has plagued the console since its launch. Those who are still on
the fence about buying an Xbox because of its problems, read on, because a
recent survey by PCMag determined that the failure rate of the console has
dropped to 10 percent. Polling their readers, 10 percent of the participants
reported that they had to send in their consoles in for repair. While this
number might still seem high, it is a considerable improvement, as PCMag
confirmed that the failure percentage of last year’s survey was 23 percent. 10
percent, though, is still twice the failure rate of the competitors, according
to the survey.

Modern Warfare 3 Achievements and Prestige Mode Revealed

Call of Duty fans know every single bit of information that has been released for Modern Warfare 3, but it’s time to learn even more details about the game, as Prestige mode and the full list of achievements have been revealed. Prestige mode is unlocked once you reach level 80, and contains a number perks to choose from. Every time you “prestige,” you receive a token to unlock one prize from the list. Welcome to the final installment of our series on games you should play instead of Modern Warfare 3.  Some of you may not be old enough to remember it, but long, long ago, in 1997, development started on the biggest hype train to ever hit the rails of the video game industry – even more hype than Modern Warfare 3.  John Romero, the genius behind Doom, was set to revolutionize the first-person shooter genre.  Released on May 23, 2000, this title remains as one of the most overhyped flops to ever grace this planet. Infamous Adventures Seeks Beta Testers

Indie developer Infamous Adventures seeks beta testers to track down bugs in their two upcoming releases, a remake of Space Quest II: Vohaul’s Revenge, and a re-mastering of their previous remake, King’s Quest III: To Heir is Human.  Their solicitation does emphasize that they need testers dedicated to questing out bugs and providing useful reports, as opposed to getting an early crack at playing these titles.
