Concept Artist for Fallout 3 and Skyrim Dies

Adam Adamowicz, one of the main concept artists behind Fallout 3 and Skyrim, has died. Adam contributed heavily to the artwork for these and many other games for Bethesda. He has been described as “an anomaly in the game industry, a veritable one-man conceptual machine” by a fellow artist. The special thing about Adam was that he did a large majority of his work without digital assistance.

Get the Mass Effect 3 Demo a Day Early

For those Mass Effect fans who absolutely need the demo for the third installment before it releases Tuesday, a new Facebook app might make it a reality. The app challenges players to click four icons in a specific order. Fail to do so after three attempts, and you will be locked out from the app for two hours. Those who are successful will receive either a download code for the demo on Xbox Live, or a free Avatar item.

Game Informer Sets Journey to Release in March

Thatgamecompany is a name that doesn’t really mean much to anyone who isn’t that big of a gamer.  In fact, even if you listed the games that Thatgamecompany has developed, most non-gamers would not be able to recognize the titles, let alone describe the gameplay.

But for those of us who have played this generation of consoles and have been particularly fond of the “indie” genre, Thatgamecompany is a name that we have learned to cherish.  Between Flow and Flower, Thatgamecompany has done well in securing a fan base and developing games that are unlike anything else that is out on the platform.  Their newest release, Journey, has been getting quite a bit of prelaunch hype, and for very good measure.  Their traditional style of simplistic gameplay with beautiful graphics is present in Journey, but the road to release has been plagued with hiccups.  After being delayed multiple times though, it looks like Journey may be coming much sooner than we think.  A recent preview article in Game Informer stated that “No matter how you describe [Journey], it’s a title that should absolutely be on your radar as we near its release in March.”  While Game Informer is certainly not the know all for release schedules, their rumors often turn out to be quite true, and a release next month would give it little competition (in the market that it is appealing to)

Preview Operation Raccoon City

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is shaping up to be unlike any Resident Evil game you’ve played.  For starters it focuses heavily on multiplayer.  Operation Raccoon City features a four player cooperative campaign as well as competitive multiplayer.  In the campaign, you and up to three friends play as Umbrella operatives sent in to clean up Umbrella’s mess amidst the chaos of the T-virus outbreak.  Zombies are everywhere and your team has a set of specific objectives that you will have to complete.
