Sega Hints at Shenmue HD

It might be time to ask people where sailors hang out once again, as a recent quote from Sega’s associate brand manager Ben Harborne seems to hint at an eventual Shenmue HD release. In an interview with Gamereactor, Harborne was asked about the upcoming re-release of Jet Set Radio, and he mentioned other Dreamcast games that fans would like to see released in HD: Shenmue and Skies of Arcadia. He then added: “I can’t say yes or no, but we may be working on them.”

Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer Was Almost in First-Person

In Bioware’s Mass Effect 3 “making-of” app for the iPad, it’s revealed that the multiplayer portion of the game was originally going to be a standalone, first-person downloadable game, set in the Mass Effect universe. After Mass Effect 2 was completed, a new Bioware studio was formed, and over four months, the studio prototyped the Mass Effect Team Assault game.

The Walking Dead Game(s) Get(s) Release Date

A while back, it was announced that the hit TV Series The Walking Dead would be getting a series of games.  This news probably came as no surprise, as the content in The Walking Dead lends itself very well to a video game format, and due to the developer being Telltale games, it makes sense that the content would most likely be episodic.  Well, not too long ago, more details about The Walking Dead were revealed, and it turns out that The Walking Dead will be much more accessible than some of the previous Telltale games, and the first out of five episodes may be releasing sooner than you think.

While an exact date has not been set in stone yet, the first of a five episode format will be coming out on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, Mac, and iOS sometime in April, and the next episodes are set to follow regularly after that.  Those who remember the last Telltale game that was released on consoles (Jurassic Park: The Game) may be fretting, because the release and quality of that game was less than ideal, but do you think that Telltale can do well with a genre that some may consider to be quite used up at this point?  Will the gameplay and storytelling be easily accessible to fans of the show that may not be the biggest gamers?  Tune in April, when episode 1 releases to find out.

Digital High Episode 31

There’s still plenty more Mass Effect 3 stuff to talk about, huge sales and on the less positive side, a lot of people are less than thrilled with how the game ends, to the point of starting a donation drive to actually get Bioware to change the ending. You just might be playing Diablo 3 this May according to the latest news from Blizzard. Oh, and if you have a PS3, you really should play Journey, like now.

Mass Effect 3 – Galaxy at War

Mass Effect 3 has arrived and with it came what would seem like the end of the galaxy. The Reapers have come however the Galaxy is at War and is not giving up without a fight. One of the most controversial issues that came with Mass Effect 3, aside from the issues with Fem-Shep, was the inclusion of Multiplayer. It seemed as though the bug that has been running rampant through the gaming world had finally hit home for me. Do not get me wrong I love Multiplayer gaming, it allows a connection to people and being competitive which is natural for as as a species. But when I am playing a single player game, I want to play a single player game. Mass Effect (the series as a whole) is one of my favorite single player games and placing multiplayer into such a perfect formula seemed to me to be blasphemy. However Galaxy at War is an addictive and well added piece of this formula.
