The Penny Arcade Expo East ended Sunday, disgorging an army of exhausted gamers from the Boston Convention Center. Loaded down with schwag, free games and fuzzy memories, a good time was had by all of these footsore nerds.

This past week EA was voted the most hated company in America (not just out of game publishers mind), Angry Birds will be getting its very own cartoon series and Ghost Recon Future Soldier gets a beta announced. That and our weekly run down of what we have been playing, which reminds me, if any of you are thinking of buying Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, don’t. In March, Game, the UK’s largest retail chain for gaming, entered administration. Although it is now out of administration, Game had to close 277 of its UK and Ireland stores; losses of around 40% to the entirety of its work force. New owners now say there will be no further closures, but with the company in heavy debt and the market seeing a massive shift towards online/digital distribution; what will the future hold for Game and Gamestation?
With Halo 4’s release approaching, Microsoft might already be looking at the next installment in the franchise. Microsoft recently registered many domains related to “Halo Infinity:” HaloInfinity.net, HaloInfinityMultiplayer.com, HaloInfinity.org, and so on. The domains were registered through Mark Monitor, a brand protection agency, and it just so happens that Microsoft.com is registered through Mark Monitor too.
Those who are fans of the role-playing genre who own any Sony system have most likely heard of the name Shin Megami Tensei. From its origins on the Playstation 1 to the upcoming Persona 4: Arena, the systems have seen quite a lot from this series, but up until this point, many of the role-playing games have not been released on the PS3 (all of the series has been released on the PSVita, but the PS3 has received nothing up to this point). And while Persona 4: Arena certainly does look like a good game, it is hard to say that it is the same as the role-playing games that have captured the hearts of fans across the world.
This will all change, because a recent story ran on IGN states that Persona 3: FES (essentially the directors cut of P3) will release on the PS3 as a PS2 classic on this Tuesday, April 10th. Most of the PS2 classics up to this point have been $10, so we can expect the rough price point to be in that range, although officially, nothing has been mentioned about the price. If they release PS: FE as a PS2 classic, do you think that this could be one step closer to a release of P4 (what some consider to be the best of the series) on the PS3 console?

Mass Effect 3 is getting its first downloadable multiplayer content pack this upcoming Tuesday, April 10. The additional content pack includes four new characters: the Asari Justicar Adept, Batarian Sentinal, Geth Infiltrator/Engineer and Krogan Vanguard. Two new maps, Firebase Hydra and Firebase Condor, will also be available. Firebase Condor will be set on one of the moons of the Turian homeworld, Palaven, while Firebast Hydra will be set on an abandoned colony formerly populated by the Quarians.
