The Walking Dead is Telltale Games’ newest project, based on the comic book series by Robert Kirkman. The game is set to be released in episodes, much like the comic book was. The first episode arrives on April 25th 2012, though the game was originally intended to be released in 2011. Telltale Games have produced some awesome games of late including: Law and Order: Legacies, Back to the Future, and Jurassic Park. If their previous games are anything to go by, this episodic game version of The Walking Dead is going to do Robert Kirkman proud.
The 2006 game Prey added a lot of twists to the First Person Shooter formula and got a good deal of critical praise for its clever story about a Native American man who is abducted by aliens and must fight for his freedom using a mixture of science and spirituality. With features like wall-walking and reverse gravity it had some unusual gameplay, introducing those features before they became better-known in the Dead Space series. The developer Human Head Studios was hard at work making a sequel for Bethesda, and it was slated to arrive this year, but an announcement today from Bethesda has stated that the game won’t be arriving this year at all.
Beamdog’s Trent Oster stated earlier this week that Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition wouldn’t be released on the Wii U. Whilst this is regrettable, it is hardly shocking news. Only the Bioware veteran didn’t stop there, he went on the clarify his company’s feelings towards Nintendo, explaining why Beamdog has no future plans to work with them.
