Once Upon a Time Casts Its Hercules and Megara
"When are they going to do The Great Mouse Detective?"
Once Upon a Time continues to move through the Disney catalogue.
TVLine reports that Jonathan Whitesell (
The Hollow)
and Kacey Rohl (
Hannibal,
The Killing)
have joined the series in the roles of Hercules and Megara. The pair will debut in the thirteenth episode of Season 5, “Labor of Love,” but aren’t slated to make any further appearances on the show.

Previous scoop on the characters describes Hercules as “a dashing, strapping young man” who is destined "to be the greatest hero who ever lived." However, his plans get derailed when he falls in love with a princess.
Meanwhile, Meg is “a plucky young adventurer with a sly sense of humor," who has been trapped in a dungeon for a long time. Rather than give in, she is simply "waiting for the right opportunity to shine brightly again.”
As TVLine notes, Greg Gurmann has been cast as “The Distinguished Gentlemen,” a character speculated to be Hades. As Gurmann's role is recurring, a reappearance from Hercules and Megara might not be out of the question.
The outlet also reveals that Bailee Madison will be returning as Young Snow White for the episode.
Once Upon a Time returns Sunday, November 29th with "Broken Heart."
