“Man With a Plan” takes a step back from last week’s game changing episode to explore how both CGC and SCDP handle the new business model. In this intriguing episode of the AMC drama, Don reacts to uncertainty and Ted finds a way to work in the unfamiliar setting.
Vice President Selina Meyer is in Finland dealing with trade negotiations and is forced to address the fact that she has gained negative attention for the song that she sang in the previous episode, which mocked countries throughout Europe. Many of the characters are out of their element, taking on roles that they do not normally play. It is revealed that one of the hostages is a spy, causing drama for Selina and company.
The season’s seventh episode, written by George R.R. Martin, is light on plot development, but includes a battle with a bear. Jaime and Brienne succeed in escaping the clutches of Locke, while Shae and Tyrion reach an impasse in their relationship in light of his impending wedding to Sansa, and Theon loses something very important to him.
Jackie has her first real date with Frank, the cop that she met recently. Much of the episode focuses on her preparation, including getting advice from everyone in the hospital and a makeover from Zoe and Thor. Jackie gets a surprise from Dr. Cruz during her date, causing her to leave, and drama ensues in an episode that is exciting from start to finish.
On the second-to-last episode of The Office, Angela is forced to bring her baby to work, Andy flames out yet again, Jim and Pam remember how they fell in love, Darryl prepares to leave Scranton, and the office mates gather to watch the documentary.
Hannibal begins another killing spree as Will and the FBI try to catch an organ thief and make progress on the Ripper case. Hannibal and Will begin their cat and mouse game, and we learn a bit more about Dr. Bloom’s past and Hannibal’s mental state in “Sorbet.”
Community ended its fourth season with a disappointing return to the darkest timeline and paintball. Afraid of becoming an awful person again once he leaves Greendale, Jeff dreams that characters from the darkest timeline have returned to force him to change.
Miles and Neville struggle to work together against Monroe, while Rachel and Aaron have a hard time crossing the Plains Nation. Even though expectations were high for this Miles Matheson vs. Tom Neville themed episode, “The Love Boat” fails to live up to the greatness of last week’s final scene. Despite an underwhelming episode, the final scene again manages to captivate and offer intriguing situations for the future.
Selina deals with multiple incidents of negative attention from the media. She sings at a benefit dinner, yielding mixed results from the crowd. Jonah is responsible for much of what happens to her, and it appears that she may let him go by the end of this episode.
The latest episode of Mad Men explores characters’ impulses in both business and personal affairs. The superbly written acted “For Immediate Release” can be easily qualified as the best episode of the season yet. Things at SCDP are changing in a major way and the agency is looking ahead to an exciting period of expansion.
