In the penultimate episode of the third season, Linden travels to the prison to make a last ditch attempt to save Ray Seward, we learn some interesting facts about the night of Tricia Seward’s death, and prison guards Becker and Henderson ready for the execution.
While the detectives investigate the death of migrants near the border they discover that a girl traveling with the group is missing. The killer contacts Daniel requesting that 4 wealthy men pay a ransom for the missing girl. Meanwhile Charlotte deals with the death of her husband and the settling of his affairs.
Ray’s family is shown more in this episode, in which Ray receivs news from back home about his father, Mickey. By the end of the episode, it appears that the investigation has been abandoned. Ray and his family check out a new private school for the kids, and also run into multiple problems, particularly with Stu Feldman.
As Debra and Dexter’s relationship takes significant strides, the shocking final moments of “Scar Tissue” have the potential to critically alter the characters’ dynamic for the future. Charlotte Rampling continues to wow as Dr.Vogel. Lacking secondary storylines continue to plague the otherwise successful final season for the Showtime drama.
The occupy movement gains more attention and is starting to be taken seriously by Atlantic Cable News after Neal gets arrested during a demonstration. Maggie’s YouTube video continues to cause trouble in the aftermath of her breakup with Don and her quest to prevent her best friend Lisa from finding out her feelings about Jim, which inevitably fails.
HBO’s True Blood killed off one of its ancillary characters in its sixth episode, as tortured war veteran Terry Bellefleur was killed. The episode also saw Sookie and Warlow get together, Eric discover Governer Burrell’s dangerous plan, and Billith joins the vampire war by killing the governor.
Linden and Holder arrest another suspect in the murders, Holder makes a heartbreaking discovery, characters wrestle with guilt and responsibility, and Seward holds out hope for a miracle.
Ray Donovan continues to deal with family issues. He handles things with the business fairly easily in this episode and much less is shown in terms of action due to the character development. A new character is revealed; he seems to want both Ray and Mickey dead.
The team at Atlantic Cable News is back and ready for action in the season premiere of The Newsroom. They are faced with some serious stories familiar to the American public, including the revolt in Libya, drones, and the Occupy movement. We are introduced to a couple new characters, and Jim leaves the office in frustration due to his interaction with Maggie.
The third episode of Dexter’s final season slows down the narrative and provides intriguing character material. Dexter and Dr. Vogel continue to hunt down the brain-obsessed killer and Debra remains deeply affected by her guilt and attempts to come clean.
