Ray Donovan – Housewarming Review: Ray Returns With Gritty Action, Even Scares The Kids

Ray is back in full force and increases the action in this episode. He finally gets to the FBI agent that has been working with Mickey and questions him, finds out that Mickey is working with the FBI, and then goes to Ezra with this information. Bunchy has a housewarming party, which is the main focus of the episode, and both Bridget and Conor attend the party, finding themselves in major trouble with Ray at the end.

“A Little Reflection” is a good episode with a broad focus, as both primary and secondary characters get their moments to shine, and despite some questionable advances in the storyline, the episode manages to end on a great note.

The Newsroom – Unintended Circumstances Review: More on Maggie

The drama that audiences know occurred sometime while Maggie was in Africa finally starts to get revealed a bit, through flashbacks and an interview with Rebecca Halliday. Meanwhile in 2011, the OWS movement builds and Shelly is brought in for an on-air interview, becoming more of a supporting character. Jim’s issues with the Romney campaign continue and his relationship with Hallie grows stronger.

Alcide is finally allowed a reprieve from his dead end story and allowed to return to Bon Temps, while Sam found out he is going to be a father. Eric and Billith both make a play for Warlow, in an effort to save Pam, Tara and Jessica before they meet the sun.

“This Little Piggy” is an adequate episode of Dexter with some truly fantastic moments, but is ultimately hindered by rushed character progression and plot points that are wrapped up too neatly. The performances ( Michael C. Hall, Jennifer Carpenter, and Charlotte Rampling) continue to be the most successful aspect of the series.

True Blood – In the Evening Review: The Stories Begin to Come Together

HBO’s True Blood said goodbye to yet another cast member as the show aired its seventh episode of its sixth season. “In the Evening” furthered the vampire-human war, with the tainted TruBlood hitting shelves. Jason is now trapped with the vampires, while Sookie must choose between sacrificing Warlow to save Tara, Eric, Jessica, and Pam or protecting him from Billith.
