‘Life’s Too Short’ Coming to HBO

Following the international success of The Office, Extras and The Ricky Gervais Show,
the English comedy writing team of Gervais and Stephen Merchant have
evidently decided to keep pushing forward for world domination. The
duo’s new outing called Life’s Too Short – a fictional documentary following the life of dwarf actor Warwick Davis (Return of The Jedi, Harry Potter)
– has been picked up by HBO. Described as a “naturalist observational
comedy,” the show is set to air on the BBC this fall, but has now also
been confirmed to air on HBO sometime in 2012.

Starz Greenlights “Noir” Adapation

Looking to cash in once again on a series overflowing with sex and violence, Starz has picked up a live-action adaption of the anime series Noir. After working on the project since last fall, Starz finally decided to give it a kick-start with an adaption penned by Steven Lightfoot, who will also be one of the executive producers on the series. Noir will join the two new Starz series; Boss, starring Kelsey Grammer, and the ’60s period piece set in Miami, Magic City.

The anime follows the story of two female assassins who team up on a journey to uncover mysteries from their past, while having to deal with soldiers from a secret organization sent to kill them. If the plot remains at all true to the “girls with guns” theme of the original, than Noir is sure to draw in a similar audience as Starz first hit series, Spartacus: Blood and Sand.

The Killing Renewed

The Killing has been renewed for a second season. News of the renewal of the show – based on the Danish show Forbrydelsen (literally translated as “The Crime”) –
comes just one week shy of its season finale on AMC. Whilst the viewing
figures for the murder mystery have averaged only around a third of the
titanous zombie-apocalypse thriller The Walking Dead
which premiered last year on the network they, along with widespread critical acclaim, are evidently more than enough to see a second year for the show.

A Peek at Season 2 of The Walking Dead

AMC
offered a small taste of what’s to come in season two for Rick Grimes
and his fellow survivors, or at least a look at what they’ll be
facing. Showcasing what may be The Walking Dead‘s
greatest attribute – that being the makeup and effects for the
“walkers” – this shot has already excited fans itching for more.

The
eyes are a certainly odd (maybe the poor lass was strangled and they
went all buggy) but there is no denying the attention to detail on
her skin, lips, and teeth are incredible. Of course where there’s
one zombie, there’s always more. With the mass of them filling the
shot it looks like things aren’t going to be getting any easier for
Rick and company.

FOX Celebrates Their Seventh Year on Top

From its humble beginnings, Fox has
risen to dominate the broadcast networks, and they’re celebrating
their seventh year of doing just that. That means they’ve also
broken their own record for most consecutive wins in broadcast
history. In addition to earning the most viewers in the key
demo (adults 18-49) for seven years running, Fox has also stayed on
top with adults 18-34 for nine seasons, and teens 12-17 for
eleven (and they say teenagers are fickle).

weeks of speculation over who would join Showtime’s lovable serial

days ago. A few weeks ago Colin Hanks was confirmed as having joined
the cast coming fresh of the back of his short-lived stint on Fox’s The Good Guys. Last week, MC-turned-oddly-voiced-actor Mos Def (real name Dante Smith) joined the show, and today, the commander/admiral of Battlestar Galactica has thrown himself into the mix as well.
