One of the best goodies that Comic-Con gave us was The Walking Dead season three trailer, which is below. The overall tone seems a bit more raw than the prior two seasons. One of the comic’s main themes is that humans are the real danger, not walkers

The CW Announces Fall 2012 Premiere Dates

The CW has announced fall premiere dates and has obviously made it a point to break tradition like the other networks. It should be said to its defense that the network had the decency to wait for fall, and to keep things under three weeks, which is no small feat considering what we have seen so far. The late start is arguably to avoid the confrontation with the ‘big four’ and possibly to cut down on show repeats later in the season.

TV News Tidbits: Wardrobe Malfunction, Browncoats, and More

During a very busy week for the U.S. Supreme Court, the justices upheld a ruling from a lower court on the “Wardrobe Malfunction” case involving CBS. For those not familiar with the case (and who could blame you? It happened eight years ago), it’s the result of the U.S. government law suit against CBS for showing Janet Jackson’s nipple for 9/16th of a second during Super Bowl 2004. The SCOTUS made CBS almost as happy as proponents of the health care law by ruling that the network didn’t have to pay the $550,000 fine

NBC Announces Fall 2012 Premiere Dates

NBC has announced premiere dates for fall season 2012, and it would seem the peacock network has turned the traditional premiere week into a period spanning three months. The expression “premiere week” comes from the fact that broadcast networks have generally made our lives easier by having most of their fall shows premiere during one week in September. The loosely-defined week may not be the same for all networks, but there is almost always that one calendar week with enough overlapping premieres to support the idea of a cross-network “premiere week.” And needless to say, it typically has the decency to be at the turn of summer, right when autumn is about to start, as if to put some meaning in “fall TV season.”
