Over the past few days, NBC has bought a few drama and comedy projects that suggest a more resolute take on shaking up the status quo in the landscape of TV ratings. We are in that phase of the pilot season where broadcast networks hunt for projects and try as much as they can to shy away from pilot commitments.
Last week on the set of Fringe in Vancouver, Anna Torv and John Noble received their EWwy awards. Torv for Best Actress in a Drama, Noble for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama, and the show for Best Drama. EWwy Awards are are Entertainment Weekly’s response to the Emmy Awards.
The 64th Primetime Emmy Awards are now history. The annual show honoring the best in primetime television programming from June 1, 2011 until May 31, 2012, was held on September 23, 2012 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles (CA). Mad Men did not get a fifth consecutive crown, but there was no earth shattering surprise. The winners were, just like the list of nominees, pretty much in the great Academy tradition. Homeland dominated the drama category and Modern Family crushed the competition in the comedy category.

More details have been unveiled on Larry David’s HBO movie. First its title, Clear History, and then the fact that the movie has secured a star-studded cast including Bill Hader, Kate Hudson, Phillip Baker Hall, Danny McBride, Eva Mendes, Amy Ryan, John Hamm and Michael Keaton.
In what appears as a strategic move before their second season premieres, ABC has reached a deal with Netflix to make the first seasons of Revenge, Once Upon a Time, and Scandal available on the video streaming website by the end of this month.
