Tracy Letts Joins the Cast of Homeland

Tracy LettsTracy Letts has been cast as a regular on the popular action show Homeland. The Tony and Pulitzer winning actor and playwright was originally cast in a recurring role and has quickly been promoted to regular status. Homeland is entering its third season in the fall and airs on Showtime. Homeland centers on a soldier who may have gone rogue during his time in Iraq. Things get complicated when he gets involved with a suspicious CIA agent. After that thrilling finale that aired several months ago, fans are certainly excited to see what will happen to Nicholas Brody regarding the manhunt that started last season. The show stars Damian Lewis as Brody, along with Morena Baccarin as his wife. Mandy Patinkin plays CIA agent Saul Berenson, who advises Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes). 


Letts will play the role of Senator Andrew Lockhart, a powerful and commanding Committee Chairman. He appears to be someone who asks tough questions in the government investigation being conducted in the aftermath of a horrific terrorist attack that destroyed a building and killed many government officials. Letts is the first new series regular to join the cast for Homeland's third season. Season 3 of Homeland premieres on September 29 and will be followed by the series premiere of Masters of Sex. F. Murray Abraham and Sarita Choudhury were also recently promoted regular status on the show.
