Tina Fey making Hocus Poc-Nope, nevermind.
The internet got its trousers all in a tizzy when
news broke that Disney was planning a sequel to the Halloween classic
Hocus Pocus. The original was released in 1993 and starred Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and some other lady as three vain witches looking for eternal beauty. While that announcement in and of itself is cause for celebration, it was the misinformed report that Tina Fey was producing the film that got people really excited. Alas,
Variety snuffed out the false rumors when they reported that Tina Fey is most definitely NOT producing a
Hocus Pocus sequel.
You may be asking yourself at this point, "so how is this news?" While Tina Fey is not making a
Hocus Pocus sequel, she is working with Disney to create a witch-centric film. The film is untitled. The only thing we know for sure is that she plans to produce and star in the film. For fans of
Hocus Pocus- a dream has been crushed today. But Tina Fey fans rejoice; the comedy genius will be gracing our big screen sometime in the near future!
