THQ explains it has shipped 1.4 million units of Darksiders II through September 30 which seems like a pretty decent sales figure, however, during an investors call, CEO Brian Farrell remarked that the company is disappointed with sales thus far.
He explained that Darksiders II had got some great reviews from its audience, and noted that THQ was “pleased with the quality of the game”. but Rubin said that it “did not perform to our expectations”.
He said, “While we were pleased with the quality of the game, with a Metacritic of 83, sales of the title were below our expectations.”
President Jason Rubin also commented saying, "Darksiders II did not perform to our expectations or live up to its generally favorable reception.”
Darksiders II was given a healthy 8.5 rating by our team and has been well received throughout the gaming community. As Christmas approaches I'm sure the game will be boosted by more sales. What do you think?
