New The Walking Dead Co-Op Shooter from Overkill Announced

A new game from Overkill and Starbreeze has been announced today, tentatively titled Overkill's The Walking Dead. The game is not scheduled for release until 2016 but an intriguing teaser trailer was released which you can see below:

Looking to be based on the comics unlike the last shooter (The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct) which was based on the TV show, it seems the game will play similarly to Overkill's Payday series. Heavily focusing on co-op, I can imagine an open world zombie survival game could be very cool to play. Raiding houses together, trying to find supplies while fighting with limited weapons. The game will involve role-playing elements as well as stealth which sounds way better than just shooting a ton of zombies for hours on end. It's still miles away from release to gather too much on what this game could be but for now it's something to keep an eye on for sure.
Just encase you're keeping note, that's now a comic book series running eleven years, a TV series for five seasons, four novels, three seasons of Telltales adventure game, and Survival Instinct that has come from The Walking Dead now. And I'm sure this will only continue to grow from here.
