It’s the only thing better than watching the movie itself: listening to a handful of passionate folks chat about all the summer’s big flicks. Dinah, John, Kieran, Simon, Steven and our special comic guest Dustin chat it up like it’s going out of style (hopefully it isn’t, we have too much fun). We had so much to cover, it took up two sessions!
Starting things off in fifth gear is our three-pronged review of the already hugely successful Fast Five either the fourth or fifth instalment in The Fast and the Furious franchise (depending on how you regard “Tokyo Drift). Then it’s down to brass tax as the team tackles our Top 15 most anticipated films from a crowded summer slate including Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, X-Men First Class and Thor all with our resident comic expect Dustin to keep us in line. What will be number one on our rundown?
Finally, we point our judgemental eyes at the box office, dissecting the numbers from last weekend with the massive debut of Fast Five and two other disappointments, then predict the big hits and flop of blockbuster season. To close things off for the session, we look to the big releases of the week ahead including the aforementioned Thor for which our writer from across the pond, Kieran has the early review.
