The Last of Us Blowout: Box Art, New Trailer, Preorder Bonuses and more!

Playstation 3 owners rejoice! The game that you keep waiting for ever since it was first announced has just been given a release date. The Last of Us comes exclusively to Playstation 3 on May 7^th, 2013. Wipe that dust off your PS3 as the first blockbuster since Uncharted 3 is coming in a mere five months. I'm kidding of course; there are tons of good exclusives for the PS3. Well, tons of exclusives anyway.

The Last of Us is Naughty Dog's new game after taking a break from dazzling players with the Uncharted franchise, also exclusive to PS3. (What would Sony do without them?) The game is set in a post apocalyptic future and looks similar to I Am Alive except everyone hopes this game is actually good.

Along with the release date, the official box art was revealed as well as the preorder bonuses you can expect to get, should you decide you want the game before its release. Here is the official box art in all its glory:

Two preorder packs have been announced so far. The first, available at ‘participating retailers’ called the ‘Sights and Sounds pack’, catchy, which contains the official soundtrack, a PS3 theme and two avatars. The second, available at Gamestop in North America is called the ‘Survival pack’ and will contain bonus experience points for multiplayer, a multiplayer Melee Attack booster and extra skins and items for multiplayer.

And yes, that is the first mention of multiplayer in this game so far. Be sure to check the site over the coming months as Naughty Dog will reveal more details on this in the future. The Last of Us comes exclusively to Playstation 3 on May 7^th, 2013.
