Leverage – The Morning After Job

So, way back in the season 3 premiere of Leverage, we were introduced to a mysterious Italian woman who worked for the US government and was blackmailing Nate and the gang to go after uber-bad guy Damien Moreau.  It was an interesting set-up on a show that in the past has avoided long-running plotlines.

Covert Affairs – Fools in the Rain

The show has really solidified itself as a highly entertaining show. We had our first plot twist this weekend and while it may not be the biggest revelation, it adds to the overall story and sets up the season finale well. You know, over the past couple of months Annie has really grown on me. Where at first she was too wide eyed and oblivious, she is now a rational and learned person and spy. The supporting cast put in fine showings today, even Arthur and Joan; the relationship I have been the most critical of.

Mad Men – The Suitcase

For years, Don Draper has kept his past a tight-locked secret, revealing it only when he was backed into a corner completely (such as when Betty found his stash of mementos).  However, this week, a combination of alcohol, exhaustion, and tragic circumstances leads to rare moment of emotional honesty with Peggy, in which he admits to, amongst other things, his time in the Korean War, his father’s death-by-horse kick, and that he never knew his mother.

Futurama – The Mutants are Revolting

It took eleven years, three networks, millions of letters from fans, more millions in DVD sales, four movies, and ninety-nine other episodes, but Futurama has finally hit number 100. It has been a long and unpredictable road, so before I get into the review, we should take a moment to appreciate what we have been through……ok with that out of the way, The Mutants are is a solid episode. While one can’t help but feel a bit let down, this is just because we had unfair expectations for the centennial episode.

Leverage – The King George Job

I have a question for you Leverage viewers.  Remember that guy Damien Moreau?  The one who was built up earlier in the season as being the big bad guy?  The one who the gang was going to spend the entire season going after, only taking jobs that lead to him?  The one who was going to finally give the show an overarching plot, making it seem less episodic?  The one who was then never mentioned again?  Well, apparently now that we’re only one episode away from the season finale, they’ve decided to finally bring that plot back, like we thought they’d be doing all season.

Lost – New Man in Charge

After months of speculation and bated breaths the so called LOST epilogue is here. On the season 6 DVD there is an additional twelve minute scene, chronicling events after the finale. The End. We all hoped that it would solve all the unanswered questions the show still has. This may have been a bit too much wishful thinking on our end. While the mini episode entitled, New Man in Charge, is not the be all and end all of LOST, it does serve as a nice cap to the LOST story and manages to answer a few of our lingering questions. I will not give a review of the ‘episode’ but will highlight answers to lingering questions.

Happy 90210 Day!

Happy 90210 (9/02/10) Day!  In honor of this once in a lifetime occurrence, it’s the perfect time to look back on one of the most influential shows of that wonderful decade of the 90s.  Back then many of us who were going through adolescence couldn’t help but become addicted to the Beverly Hills, 90210 gang and marvel at how their lives resembled ours, if only we had a lot more money, were having much more sex, doing many more drugs, and were much, much, much more attractive.  Other than that, it was like looking in a mirror.  20 years after we were first fell in love with Brandon, Brenda, Dylan, Kelly, Steve, Donna, David, and Andrea (well, no one really cared about Andrea), here’s a look back at some of the shows most memorable moments.
