Doctor Who – The Power of Three

The Doctor has had a great number of companions, some memorial, some less so. In the new version of the show we have had the personal and real lives of his companions. But The Power of Three gives us the first opportunity to see the lives of Amy and Rory along with the impact of  what traveling for 10 years has on their regular lives. Making matters more interesting, a large number of small black cubes rain down on Earth and The Doctor, his companions, and the international intelligence agency UNIT have to investigate and inspect them before they could enact any sinister purpose they may have.

The 64th Primetime Emmy Awards Winners

The 64th Primetime Emmy Awards are now history. The annual show honoring the best in primetime television programming from June 1, 2011 until May 31, 2012, was held on September 23, 2012 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles (CA). Mad Men did not get a fifth consecutive crown, but there was no earth shattering surprise. The winners were, just like the list of nominees, pretty much in the great Academy tradition. Homeland dominated the drama category and Modern Family crushed the competition in the comedy category.

Preoccupied with his daughter Dani, Rosen left the case of the week in the capable hands of Bill. And while under her father’s scrutiny, Dani managed to spend some time with Cameron and his son and permanently affected the relationship between the two.

Last Resort – Captain (Early Review)

The series premiere of Last Resort is still a bit more than a week away, but ABC was kind enough to make the episode available online. Luckily, we here at PlayerAffinity TV mostly have good things to say about it. A pilot episode is usually the proof-of-concept, or sample made to sell the series to a network. Pilot episodes come in all shapes and sizes, and most of them — even among the most successful — are rarely as engrossing as this one was. In just one episode, we’ve managed to get a pretty good sense of all major characters while following the crew in the middle of the Indian Ocean (and the folks back in the U.S.) through an engaging story.
